PostNL delivers record 1 million packages

PostNL delivered over one million packages to households in the Netherlands on Tuesday, breaking the post office's record for packages delivered in a single day. The packages were delivered in the run-up to the December 5th Sinterklaas holiday, when family and friends traditionally exchange gifts in the Netherlands. "This is a milestone that I'm proud of. We are delivering a package to an average of 1 in 7 households in our country today', general manager at PostNL Parcels Gerrit Mastenbroek said in a statement. With online shopping becoming the norm in most households, courier companies like PostNL have reaped the rewards in increased door-to-door deliveries, and with Sinterklaas still approaching.
