Housing boss' corruption known years ago

According to De Telegraaf, the investigation service VROM-IOD already knew about the misconduct and conflicts of interest within Rochdale seven years ago. The misbehavior of Hubert Mollenkamp, former CEO of the Amsterdam housing corporation Rochdale, were known, but the Ministry did not intervene. This is evident from confidential files of the VROM-IOD, now part of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment. These documents, which are in De Telegraaf's possession, shows that the then Ministry of Housing was in 2007 already aware of the questionable agreements between Mollenkamp and the real estate company Nawon, owned by Arie van Erkel. On Wednesday Mollenkamp, Van Erkel and two other defendants will appear in court for their role in the million euro fraud at Rochdale.
