Car explosion hurts one; crime suspected

A violent explosion inside a car left one person seriously injured Friday morning in Veghel, Noord Brabant. Investigators suspect foul play and have cordoned off the area around Plevierdonk while they collect evidence and clean up the suspected crime scene.Police have sent an explosives team to also investigate the cars used by the driver’s wife and family members. “The driver of the car was injured by the fire,” police say. “A neighbor put him in a shower,” as paramedics rushed to the location. The incident rocked the small town at 11:25 a.m. The blast caused windows to shatter down the street, with blown off parts of the Volkswagen Passat coming to rest at least ten meters away. A response team from the Defence Ministry also responded.
