TU Eindhoven's tallest building goes residential
The University of Eindhoven's (TU/e) landmark building will be converted into a residential tower. After the design by diederendirrix architects, the tower will have three hundred residential units.
The adjacent building, Corona, will also be renovated. The buildings will have additional features such as small shops, a restaurant and lodgings for the cultural student associations.
"The buildings will be made sustainable and energy neutral through renovations." says TU/e.
The renovations of Potential and Corona form part of the Campus 2020 project, which aims to make a compact university that uses less space. At the moment the Department of Electrical Engineering is still located in these buildings, but they will move to a new building called Flux at the end of this year.
The renovations should be done by the end of 2016.
