Amsterdam centrum murder "mistaken identity": prosecutor

The 30 year old Stefan Regalo Eggermont, who was shot dead on July 13th, seems to be the first innocent victim of the recent murder spree in Amsterdam. Eggermont seems to have been switched with the intended target. "He was until his death not known to us. We have not been able to link him to the liquidation wave in any way." says Police Chief Pieter Jaap Aalbersberg, AT5 reports. According to Aalbersberg, Eggermont was probably mistaken for someone else. The police also note that he was driving the same car as the intended victim. Eggermont's murder is counted among the recent liquidation wave in the city. According to Aalbersberg the same method was used. As with the other murders, automatic firearms were used and a burnt out getaway car was later found. A 15 thousand euro reward has been offered for information leading to the perpetrator/s.
