Three boys, 10, accused in 7-yr-old's beating

Since Tuesday, three 10-year old boys have been detained at the police station in Zwolle, accused of assaulting a 7-year old boy in the Schellerpark. The boys cannot be criminally prosecuted, as they are minors, the police reports. The boys have been at the police station, in the presence of their parents, and are being questioned about the incident. Police and the Bureau for Youth Care are going to determine a suitable approach as to how these boys will be punished. Criminal prosecution of minors under the age of 12 is not possible. The 7-year old boy in question was being forcefully held in the Schellerpark in Zwolle by the other boys. Police will not give further information on the details of the assault. They do use the term "violence."
