Body found near plane's landing gear
Workers at Schiphol airport made a grisly discovery Thursday when they found a body near the landing gear of a KLM Cityhopper airplane. The flight landed in Amsterdam around 10 a.m. without incident after departing from Trondheim, Norway.
No details about the person have been released. Authorities told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, “We do not know who it is. We’ll find out.”
“The investigation has so far shown that there is probably no question of a crime, and that the victim presumably died from a lack of oxygen,” the Marechaussee military police said in a statement.
Sources on the ground said that the plane was an Embraer aircraft. The Marechausee military said that the body was found near the plane’s right-side landing gear.
