Find My Phone leads to arrest; 62-year-old denies theft
A 62-year old woman was arrested in her home in Oosterhout Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of theft. It is thought that the woman stole an iPhone that was lying on a check-out counter in a shop in 's-Hertogenbosch.
Police were able to find her location because of a Find My Phone app that was installed on the device. The phone belongs to a 42-year old woman, whose husband reported the theft with the police on Wednesday.
The woman was working in a clothing shop in the Vughterstraat when she placed her phone on the counter to help a customer. When the customer left, her phone was missing.
The hunt for the phone was aided by the tracking app, which led the woman's husband to drive to Oosterhout, alerting the police on the way. This led to the arrest of the 62-year old woman in her home. She denies the theft. Police will investigate, and must further question the suspect.
