Dutch housing prices down: CBS
The prices of owner-occupied houses in the Netherlands have dropped 2.1 percent in March, compared with March 2013. Housing prices in February 2012 were 1.7 percent cheaper than in February 2013.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), who published these figures on Tuesday in conjunction with the Land Registry Office, the price level of homes in the Netherlands has remained relatively stable over the past nine months.
The housing prices index shows that the month of March 2014 was almost level with November 2002. The prices were also 20.5 percent below the record level registered in August 2008.
Compared to the same period last year, 25 percent more homes were sold in the first three quarter of this year. In the Netherlands, 28,963 homes were sold.
