False €50 notes crop up in North Holland
Police in North Holland are warning people to be on the look-out for fake €50 notes. The fake money cropped up in Den Helder and Julianadorp. Reports have been coming in since March, with 10 complaints about the false cash reaching the police. The false bank notes are being offered at petrol stations, supermarkets and food couriers, so they have already reached far into the money stream. According to the police, the fakes are not that good.
"They are often color copies of very bad quality with glued aluminum strips", the police say. Copied bank notes of €50 came to the surface in Zoetermeer and surroundings.
