Amsterdam to host coffee festival

The Dutch are well lauded as coffee appreciators, which might be the reason behind the upcoming Amsterdam Coffee Festival 2014. The Festival, which will be held in the NDSM-docks in the city on the 2nd and 3rd of May, will allow visitors to "celebrate Amsterdam's exciting local coffee and artisan food scene" according to the website. The festival was a big success in London, and expects thousands of visitors. Champion baristas from some of Europe's best espresso bars will be able to show the science and art of coffee making. The festival will host several SCAE events, such as the Dutch Barista Championship final, Latte Art Final and Brewer's Cup Final. There will also be an photo exhibition of Amsterdam's coffee scene. All in all, the website promises coffee, naturally, as well as music, cocktails, and a vibrant atmosphere. The festival also kicks off NL Coffee Week™.
