One-third in NL happy with jobs: study

About one third of the Dutch workforce, 37 percent, enjoys their job, according to study results of Effectory in their report 'The hidden potential of the Dutch workforce', which will be published in March. Effectory, a specialist in employee surveys, conducted a large-scale study among 40,000 employees.

The study showed that about 37 percent of the employees in an average Dutch organization are dedicated. They are passionate about what they do and give their best. However, 63 percent is not and wouldn't mind switching jobs just like that. These subject still put in a good day's work, but are not passionate and don't perform to their full potential. 43 percent of the employees is engaged in the work they do, but 20 percent is not. The study showed 34 percent of employees is both engaged in and enthusiastic about their job and are among the company's most valuable assets. The statistics reveal a lot of potential, considering that enthusiasm and engagement in the company you work for are easily influenced, according to Guido Heezen, director of Effectory and HR trend watcher. The 63 percent of unhappy workers isn't as gloomy as it looks considering how easy it is to increase job satisfaction, responsibilities and challenges, important factors to increasing staff engagement. Boosting the engagement of the workforce will also boost the company.
