KPN internet, phone outtage hits thousands
The city of Deventer has been without internet, telephone and TV since Monday morning due to a break in a cable which happened during maintenance.
It is believed that the digging works carried out during maintenance on Monday caused a break in the cable, which has multiple lines. This is why it's also often difficult to get money at ATMS in Deventer center.
The municipality announced on Monday that the disruptions may last until Wednesday. "The repairs of the KPN-network in Deventer is going gradually", the municipality writes on Twitter.
A spokesperson for KPN has said that "calling with a mobile is still possible." The municipality has advised residents to make sure their phones are charged.
The road under which the cable lies has been blocked due to the repair works.
