Kids football pitch vandalized with shattered glass

Inspection of football fields of two football clubs in Nieuw-Weerdinge in Drenthe, just prior to a match, turned up half-buried broken beer bottles, sticking out of the grass just barely. Nobody got hurt.

The group started out throwing eggs at windows, but 'now they have turned to committing criminal acts. You don't want to stop and think about what could've happened on that football field during a match,' said a police informant.

Besides the stunt with the beer bottles the vandals also destroyed a gallery in the sports park. Football associations Titan and NWVV in Nieuw-Weerdinge filed police reports.
