Maastricht car crash leads to shoot-out

A 27-year-old man was lucky to escape with his life when shots were fired in his direction at the Widelanken in Maastricht, Thursday morning, when he tried to confront another motorist who damaged his car. Earlier that morning the man had witnessed from a distance how a black Volkswagen Golf damaged his car and drove off. crime scene

Flickr When he came across the same car later that morning he wanted to confront the driver, when one of the occupants of the car opened fire in his direction. The men then took off in the direction of the Noorderbrug. The victim remained unharmed. Police sent out a "burgernet" alert to try and locate witnesses to the incident. The crime scene was secured for further investigation immediately after the incident. Police call on anyone with information to call 0900-8844, or 0800-7000 (anonymously).
