Robbery suspect on attempted manslaughter charges

Mouad Ben S. the suspect police in Amsterdam arrested last week on a tip from the community, is also suspected of being charged with attempted manslaughter. Mouad (27), a notorious robber who is also held responsible for sexual offenses, was held on Thursday night January 9, after his picture was aired by police in the TV program Opsporing Gezocht (Wanted); police released his unconcealed picture in hopes that this would help speed up his arrest and prevent him from committing more crimes. Mouad, they said, had committed several crimes in Amsterdam in early December. Acting on tips, police were able to track him to a house in the city where he was arrested. The Prosecutor’s Office announced today that the Judge of Instruction decided on Monday to extend the suspect’s detention. The office did not reveal how what attempted manslaughter case he was suspected of, where it was committed and how many victims he claimed. Unconfirmed reports are that Mouad once mistreated a prostitute with a crowbar.
