Oskam murder suspect's girlfriend talks

Along with everybody else Katja, the girlfriend of William R., suspected of killing his ex-wife, Claudia Oskam, can not comprehend what transpired over the weekend in Zevenbergen. R. confessed to killing his ex-wife. 'Everything was going so well for us. William must have lost his temper and had a black-out or something. This is a nightmare, especially for Claudia's family,' said the woman from Roosendaal to De Telegraaf. Claudia Oskam, murdered in January 2014 (L), and William, her ex-husband and a suspect in the case (R), (photos: Facebook) William R. and Claudia Oskam had been married for 17 years and had three children, when they got divorced, about a year and a half ago. They both had moved on with new relationships. To the outside world it appeared the arrangements they made worked well, and the kids would be at their dad's every two weeks from Thursday through Sunday. When Claudia went over to R.'s home to discuss partner alimony, something went wrong. However, William called girlfriend Katja to tell her 'their talk went well and Claudia left after only fifteen minutes,' said Katja. She goes on to say: 'I spoke to William later to help him when he was wondering where to look for Claudia, because he was worried about her. He avoided questions about his hand injury.' Claudia's body must have still been in William's house that Friday night. He only dumped the body after the children went to sleep. It is still a mystery how and why she was murdered. That Friday and Saturday R. also visited Claudia's brother, Mark, who thought R.s behavior was a little off because he was worried about Claudia. That Friday night R. reportedly also made a phone call to his family. The Prosecution charged William R. with murder. The court in Breda extended his detention with at least two weeks, Tuesday.
