One dead in Amsterdam street shooting

One man was killed in a brazen street shooting in Amsterdam Saturday night where several shots were reportedly fired. The man died at the scene after being briefly revived by paramedics, police said. The victim's identity has not been released. Police have not disclosed his age, or said if he has an arrest record. The shooting happened at 10:30 p.m. on Slauerhoffstraat in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. "Officers discovered a badly-injured man on the street," a police report says. "Various witnesses testified that they had heard multiple shots."

Amsterdam broadcaster AT5 also says that at least one person saw the shooting on his way home. After securing the scene, police combed the area in search of those involved in the shooting. Police do not know how many suspects they are tracking down.
