Dutchman busted with €2m in drugs
A 57-year-old Dutchman was arrested in Newcastle, England, after border patrol officers there found over a hundred kilos of heroin and cocaine in his possession. The arrest was made on December 7, and he was formally charged with importing Class A and Class B drugs ten days later. “This was an excellent seizure by our officers and it has kept a large amount of harmful drugs off our streets," said Border Force assistant director Christine Brown. After his initial court appearance, he was remanded until a follow-up court hearing on January 2. "We will continue to work hard to keep our borders safe and crack down on drug smuggling,” Brown said.
