King Willem-Alexander Christmas speech

King Willem-Alexander made his first Christmas speech today. In his speech, the king talked about human relationship. The king sat on a chair by a roaring fire in a room with portraits of his three daughters, and photos of his parents and Máxima, Nos reports. The king talked about social developments. He referred to the effect of the economic crisis on people and that people are suffering elsewhere in the world as a result of natural disasters, hunger, hatred and terror. According to the king, Christmas expects peace on earth, and peace begins very close the street, in the neighborhood, at home, at the club, in your own town or city, he said. Everyone can contribute to peace by seeking connections. The king used an African proverb to underline the importance of relationships. “People are people because of other people.”
