Auto piloted car getting closer

For the longest time it seemed science fiction, driving independently, without a driver. Starting today that technology seems a step closer. Minister Melanie Schultz (Infrastructure) made a first test drive on public roads in Amsterdam with auto-piloted cars. Schultz got into a Toyota DAVI (Dutch Automated Vehicle Initiative), which filed onto the A10 automatically. The car was part of a convoy of three vehicles which, after filing in, continued the ride in formation. This is possible because the cars are equipped with cameras, radar and other sensors that keep an eye on other traffic. After the test drive the Minister spoke of a wonderful innovation.
