Attack on honorary consul Croatia

The Dutch honorary consul Silvana Kondic was attacked in her office on Wednesday by a man with a knife. The incident occurred in the southern port city of Split. The victim is not in danger. The perpetrator was arrested.The motive for the attack is still unknown. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs nothing suggests the act is related to the Netherlands or Dutch policy. The 72-year-old woman was stabbed in her head and neck more than ten times, in her own office, according to local media. She was heavily wounded and was admitted to the hospital. Flag_Croatia

Wikimedia commons Earlier it was reported that a man of about 50 had fled on foot. He reportedly has both the Dutch and Croatian nationality. Kondic is honorary consul in Split. There are two more honorary consuls, located in other Croatian cities. Honorary consuls are often people who are familiar with the country and offer voluntary assistance with consular affairs. They work from their own office.
