NS drives empty Fyra V250 trains
The NS rides with Fyra V250 trains again .It involves so-called maintenance rides, which are intended to prevent corrosion of parts and to prevent them from getting stuck. There are no passengers aboard, reported the carrier on Friday. Weekly, every night a V250 train is taken for a ride. The speed does not exceed one hundred kilometers per hour. The NS stressed that the V250 train set will not come back in commercial service.

Wikimedia commons Late last month it was announced that the NS formally terminated the purchase agreement with AnsaldoBreda for seven Fyra's. An NS representative did not want to disclose the fate of the nine high-speed trains that were built by the Italian company and were already transferred to NS. The brand new V250 trains were removed from the timetable in January, due to numerous defects and barely a month after the first train ran over the super fast track towards Belgium. In June the NS decided to permanently pull the plug on the Fyra. The Amsterdam-Breda route still has trains named Fyra, but those are TRAXX locomotives with intercity carriages.
