FNV Urges Talk About Sensire

The FNV wants quick consultation with Lodewijk Asscher, Minister of Social Affairs and Employment, on the impending mass redundancies at home care organization Sensire. FNV-chairman Ton Heerts said this on Thursday at the Square in front of the House, where FNV and Abvakabo offered the House and Government a report with alternatives to the government cuts. Heerts called the dismissal of 1,100 employees in Sensire 'unacceptable'. He responded to a letter to which Asscher Wednesday explained that he does not want to judge the license in which UWV has authorized the dismissal of 1,100 people. According to Heerts the answer of Asscher is pure technical. However by discussion the layoffs should be avoided. Municipalities he believes have the money for home care and the workers are available. ,, This should really be different. We have to talk more to ensure that policies are adjusted and that unnecessary redundancies take place,'' he told the ANP. Heerts disagrees with SP MP Paul Ulenbelt who thinks that the position Asscher takes is rather that of a coward and he tweeted on Wednesday that he has no confidence in the minister.
