Spotify has helped lessen music piracy in the Netherlands and Norway.

The RIAA’s keen support of SOPA, ACTA, and CISPA may have benefited music piracy but it is still a significant issue for the industry. According to two studies mentioned by Techdirt, lawful alternatives to digital music piracy can solve the problem. Services like Spotify already contributed to the decrease in piracy. Spotify is a commercial music streaming service which offers Digital Rights Management-protected content from big record labels.
