Heavy Evening Traffic
Friday’s evening traffic was twice as heavy. A representative of the Dutch roadside assistance, ANWB, said that at around 5:10 pm, 340 kilometers of traffic were recorded unlike the normal 130 kilometers.
The increase in traffic was mainly due to holiday traffic. For about 1.8 million people, the May holiday starts this weekend. The roads are busy especially around Arnhem and Nijmegen in the province of Noord-Brabant and from Utrecht towards the south.
Nu.nl reported that a representative of ANWB said the peak would be at around 340 kilometers and that rush hour would be over around 7:30 pm.
