Bomb Threat in Leiden

Three hundred students were evacuated from a university in Leiden after a bomb alert on Friday.  A staff member of the university located at the Zernikedreef said that at around 3 pm the fire alarm went off. “Normally the emergency response team meets us outside, but now there was only the police.” The police stated that they do not suspect the alert has a connection with last week’s shooting threat. Because of this threat, all high- and mbo- (intermediate vocational education) schools in Leiden remained closed last Monday. Nu.nl reported that the police, without any further comments about the alert, were continuing their investigation.
