Mall Shooting

Police patrolling the Zuidplein Mall in Rotterdam shot a 25-year-old man on Thursday evening after he tried to escape from them. The Hoogvliet man was shot once in the leg, and was taken to an area hospital. The police received a tip that the man was carrying a firearm. When police approached the man he took off running. One officer shot at the escaping suspect. A gun was found on the wounded man's body before he was taken to a hospital. The State Investigation Department is investigating the case.
