The police received 10 tips about the  in 1989. The medical student was stabbed to death 150 meters from her home in Delft, ANP reports.

The case was discussed on Opsporing Verzocht and various other television programs on Tuesday evening. The police are currently investigating the tips, a police spokesperson said to the news wire.

The police received new, concrete information regarding a possible perpetrator behind the murder of 32-year-old Wilma Bres in Delft in 1989. This cold case has therefore been reopened, with a 10 thousand euro reward on offer for information that leads to the arrest of the perpetrator or perpetrators, the police said on Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday evening.

Exactly what information was received, was not revealed. 

Wilma Bres was found stabbed to death near her home on Muyskenlaan in Delft at around 3:00 a.m. on July 16th, 1989. Her bicycle was found nearby.

Exactly 25 years ago today, 18-year-old student Tanja Groen disappeared without a trace in Maastricht. Even after all this time, her mother Corrie Groen hopes that someone will come forward with information about what happened to her youngest daughter. "You never know if someone will open their mouth", she said to RTL Nieuws.

Around midnight on August 31st, 1993, first year student Tanja left a party at her student association in Maastricht to cycle to her room in nearby Gronsveld. She never arrived there. No sign of her, not even her bicycle, was ever found.

Relatives of unsolved murders in the Netherlands started a petition calling on the government to hire more detectives so that the police can pay more attention to these cold cases. The petition asks the government for a "stronger and more convincing approach" to cold cases and "more well-equipped police teams", NOS reports.

The Netherlands counts around a thousand murder cases that haven't been solved. There are also around 800 other serious violent crimes in which no arrests were made.

Jos B., the man suspected of killing 11-year-old in 1998, had a survival kit with which he could survive in the wild with him when he was caught in Spain on Sunday. "He was prepared to sleep in caves, had a lot of prepared food, fishing tackle and a book about edible plants", inspector Antonio Navarro Acevedo from the Barcelona police told the Telegraaf.

Jos B., a 55-year-old man suspected of involvement in the murder of 11-year-old in 1998, was arrested in Spain on Sunday afternoon, the police confirmed on Sunday evening. He is currently in a Spanish cell and will be extradited to the Netherlands shortly, the police said.

The police received over 200 tips about the possible whereabouts of Jos Brech, the 55-year-old man suspected of murdering 11-year-old  in Brunssummerheide in 1998, Limburg police chief Ingrid Schafer-Poels said on Laat op één. "Most are about his possible whereabouts, or people who think they saw him. We are going to investigate them all urgently."

Twenty years after the murder of 11-year-old in Brunssummerheide, the Dutch authorities managed to identify a suspect. The suspect is 55-year-old Jos B. from Simpelveld. The police do not know where he is at this time, and placed him on the national wanted list on Wednesday.

The Dutch police teamed up with technology company The New Web (TNW) to showcase how the police are using technological developments to breathe new life into cold cases, track down suspects faster, and keep the Netherlands safer in general. 

TNW approached the police early this year. "At first sight it seemed to be a strange fit", TNW founder Patrick de Laive said about the collaboration on LinkedIn. "After a few conversations and brainstorms it became clear that the police would actually be a great partner as a great part of police work is transferring to a digital landscape."

Partly as a result of new information, the cold case team decided to restart the investigation into his disappearance. On Monday the police are searching the De Brink lake in Liessel for two men who disappeared in 1974. The search is launched based on information received late last year, the police said in a statement on Monday.

Piet Holskens (21) and Hans Martens (20) from Assen disappeared in March 1974 after a night out in Deurne. They visited Zanzibar in Deurne and were last seen leaving in a red Fiat 850 Coupe. In the years that followed, the police launched various searches, all to no avail. The police always took into account that the friends may have been murdered.

Men in the Limburg region massively responded to the police's call to give a DNA sample for a kinship investigation in the 1998 from Heibloem. On Saturday alone, 1,225 men gave samples. The police even opened an extra collection point in Landgraaf to process the massive response, the Telegraaf reports.

A suspect was arrested in the murder of 19-year-old Milica van Doorn in Zaandam in 1992, the police announced on Monday. The identity of the suspect was not revealed. The Public Prosecutor will hold a press conference on this cold-case murder at 10:00 a.m.

Van Doorn was found raped and and stabbed to death in the Zaandam neighborhood of Kogerveld on June 8th, 1992. Despite intensive investigation, the perpetrator was never found.

The men approached to participate in a DNA kinship investigation in an attempt to solve the 1992 rape and murder of Milica van Doorn in Zaandam, were willing to take part en masse. So far 126 of the 133 Dutch-Turkish men approached gave the police a voluntary DNA sample, the police said in a statement. 

"It is really fantastic to see that so many men cooperated. All from commitment and willingness to solve this gruesome case, supported by their own families. That deserves a big copliment." team leader Rob Keet said in the statement.

The Amsterdam police may have stumbled across a serial killer in a missing person investigation. 44-year-old Sjonny W. from Amsterdam is suspected of gruesomely murdering two women, and involvement in the disappearance of a third, the Telegraaf reported on Thursday.

The Noord-Holland police and Public Prosecutor decided to launch a DNA kinship investigation in an attempt to finally solve the rape and murder of 19-year-old Milica van Doorn in Zaandam in 1992. On Monday a total of 133 men received a request to give a voluntary DNA sample for the investigation. None of the men approached are considered suspects, but the investigators hope that one of them is related to the suspect.
