A Colombian pilot was arrested in Paris in connection with an attempted jail break in the Netherlands last month. He was meant to fly a hijacked helicopter that was supposed help criminal gang leader Benaouf A. break out of the prison in Roermond.
A fourth suspect in an attempt to hijack a helicopter and break an Amsterdam gang leader from the prison in Roermond last week, was arrested. The suspect was arrested on Thursday last week, a day after the attempted jailbreak. He and three other suspects were arraigned and remanded into restricted custody, ANP reports.
On Wednesday night the police prevented a helicopter hijacking in Limburg. According to a statement released by the police, criminals from the Amsterdam underworld wanted to use this helicopter to break a convict out of the penitentiary in Roermond. During the police intervention in Roosteren, one suspect was shot by a member of a SWAT team. He died of his injuries. Three others were arrested.
