On Tuesday Prime Minister Mark Rutte spoke to his British counterpart Theresa May about the state of affairs regarding the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union at the end of March. "Time is running out. The ball is in London's court", Rutte tweeted after this discussion.

Negotiators from the EU and UK are currently in negotiations, trying to prevent a chaotic, no-deal Brexit at the end of March. "The importance of reaching an agreement is clear to all. I support the resumption of talks in Brussels", Rutte said.

The pupils who organized a massive protest march in The Hague last week met with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Eric Wiebes of Economic Affairs and Climate on Tuesday. They are not satisfied with the results of the talk, and will therefore continue with protests for more to be done against climate change, the organization Youth for Climate announced on Twitter.

According to  investigative website El Cohete a la Luna, Maxima does not report the correct value of her possessions in Patagonia, in the west of Argentina, to the tax authorities. Prime Minister Mark Rutte reacted in horror to reports of a shooting at a Christmas market in the French city of Strasbourg on Tuesday evening. At least three people were killed and 12 injured, six of whom are in a serious condition, French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner confirmed, BBC reports.

"Horrible reports about the shooting in Strasbourg", the Dutch Prime Minister said on Twitter. "My thoughts are with the victims and their next of kin. I have conveyed my condolences to President Emmanuel Macron."

In the Rutte III coalition agreement the Dutch government agreed to lower emissions by 49 percent by 2030. Argentine president Mauricio Macri invited Queen Maxima to attend the gala evening to kick off the G20 summit in Buenos Aires on Friday evening. The Dutch Queen was invited in her role as special advocate for the Secretary General of the United Nations in the area of inclusive financing, ANP reports.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte will also attend the G20 Summit. The Netherlands was invited to the summit as an extra country, just like last year when Germany invited the Netherlands to attend.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte says he has no plans to take a position in either the European Union or European Commission, and put an end to his Netherlands political career. Now leading his third cabinet as PM, Rutte has held the top job for over eight years.

"I'm staying. I'm not going to Brussels," he told NPO Radio 1's 10P1.

He said it would be irrelevant for other European leaders to try and persuade him to resign as Prime Minister to sit in a position like European President or European Commission Chairman. Rutte wants to serve the entire duration of the current cabinet.
