Two young teenage girls from Leeuwarden have been missing since the weekend. The police and the parents of 13-year-old Emily and 14-year-old Kirsten  are very concerned.

The two girls ran away from a treatment center in Leeuwarden at 11:20 p.m. on Friday. Both left on foot and carried a bag with them.

"Unfortunately, our daughters have not yet been found, please keep an eye out for them! We are so terribly worried... Girls where are you? Call me. Big kiss, daddy", Kirsten's dad Sander Wessels wrote on Twitter.

Missing 12-year-old Emily from Grootegast was found alive in a home in The Hague, the girl's father said on Facebook. The girl is back home and is in good health, the police said to newspaper AD.

Emily was found in the company of a man. The police are investigating what role he played in her disappearance. 

The police will talk to Emily later to find out exactly what happened.

The police are searching for 12-year-old Emily Meijer from the Groningen village of Grootegast, who went missing on Tuesday afternoon. The police believe she may be in the company of an "unidentified man" and are very concerned about her wellbeing, AD reports. The girl's father posted her photo on Facebook, calling for information about her whereabouts. The post was shared over 84 thousand times.
