The missing 19-year-old Anouk van Luijk was found alive on Cuba and reunited with her parents. She is doing well under the circumstances, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced, RTL Nieuws reports.

The Ministry would not say what happened to the young Dutch woman, or where she's been over the past days, for privacy reasons.

Anouk van Luijk has been missing on Cuba for several days. The 19-year-old woman from Hellevoetsluis was supposed to fly back to the Netherlands on Saturday, but never showed up for her flight. Her family hasn't heard from her since Saturday, her father Wim van Luijk said in a Facebook post, that has since been shared nearly 8 thousand times.

No Dutch people were killed or hurt in plane crash in Cuba on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed based on information from the Cuban authorities, ANP reports.

The plane crashed shortly after taking off in the Cuban capital of Havana. 110 people were killed and three of the injured are in critical condition. 

The cause of the crash is not yet known. The team investigating the crash found one of the plane's black boxes on Saturday.

The plane involved is a Cubana de Aviacion Boeing 737-200. It was flying from Havana to Holguin.

At least 2,400 Dutch travelers are currently in the areas that will soon face the wrath of Hurricane Irma, according to travel agency TUI, NU.nl reports.

Around 1,600 Dutch are on Cuba and the Dominican Republic. They booked trips through TUI subsidiary Kras. The other 800 are in the American state of Florida.

TUI also has four travelers on Sint Maarten, where Hurricane Irma hit on Wednesday, leaving devastation in its wake. TUI managed to make contact with all four Dutch and they are doing well.

The Netherlands will not take prisoners from controversial American prison Guantanamo Bay unless more is done to reduce, or eventually close the facility, Dutch Foreign Minister Bert Koenders emphasized on Thursday. Almost nothing meaningful has been done by the U.S. to move in that direction, he said of the facility on the island of Cuba.

The Netherlands and Cuba will be working more closely together in future. Minister Bert Koenders of Foreign Affairs made this agreement during his visit to Cuba, the ministry announced on Friday. Koenders said that the Netherlands has a "solid relationship" with Cuba, ANP reports.

Cuba asked Dutch companies to invest in the country. The Cuban ambassador in the Hague made this request now that the relations between Cuba and the United States are better and trading will be easier.
