Belgian Princess Eléonore to study at Utrecht University starting in September
Belgian Princess Eléonore will begin studies at Utrecht University after the summer. The youngest daughter of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde will start the bachelor’s program in Liberal Arts and Sciences in September, the royal Belgian court announced Thursday.
The 18-year-old princess will take the program at University College Utrecht, part of Utrecht University. University College Utrecht was founded in 1998 and was the first university college in the Netherlands at the time.
The English-language program lasts three years and includes courses from the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences that students assemble themselves. At the end of her studies, the princess may end up being either a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts, depending on the subjects she chooses.
Eléonore is the second daughter of the Belgian royal couple, who have four children. Her older sister, 24-year-old Elisabeth, received her Public Policy diploma from Harvard University in the United States in May.
Her brother Emmanuel has been following the French-language business development program at ISTEC in Brussels since March, and Prince Gabriel is pursuing military training.
