Few rush hour issues tonight: Bruno Mars in Amsterdam, Alanis Morissette in The Hague

An average evening rush hour is expected for Tuesday despite two big performances attracting big crowds in Amsterdam and The Hague, and amid the ongoing delays from roadworks on the A1. Bruno Mars is performing his last Amsterdam show of The Romantic Tour in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. And Canadian singer Alanis Morissette is performing in the Zuiderpark in The Hague - her only performance in Europe this year.

Each of Bruno Mars’s Amsterdam performances sold out. The stadium can hold about 60,000 fans. The organizers of the Alanis Morissette performance expect around 20,000 attendees. The organizers of both shows advised attendees to come by public transport or bicycle.

There are two train stations within walking distance of the Johan Cruijff Arena: Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA and Duivendrecht. Train traffic was running on schedule to and from both of these stations halfway through Tuesday afternoon. The ArenA is also accessible by city and regional buses.

Doors open at 5 p.m., and Bruno Mars’ performance is scheduled to start at 8:45 p.m. There will be two opening acts to get the evening started.

The Zuiderpark is also easily reachable by city transport, with tram lines 9 and 16, and bus routes 23, 37, 25, 26, and 51 passing the park, according to Omroep West. There is limited parking around the park, so the organizers advise against coming by car.

The venue also opens its doors at 5 p.m., and Alanis Morissette will perform starting at 9 p.m. She will take the stage as the headliner after three opening performances.

For the Netherlands as a whole, the ANWB expects an average Tuesday evening rush hour, despite ongoing roadworks on the A1, A20, and A27 causing some extra delays.
