Suspect arrested after multiple sexual assault reports in Spijkenisse
Police in Spijkenisse are investigating multiple possible sexual assault incidents after a suspect was arrested after 1 a.m. on Saturday. Authorities are also examining whether three separate reports are connected, police reports.
In the first incident, a father of a teenage girl told Hart van Nederland’s 112 correspondent that his daughter was attacked while walking her dog. He said a man dragged her into bushes, but she managed to break free and screamed for help. Nearby residents came outside after hearing her screams, and police were called immediately. The suspect fled the scene.
Following the report, police issued a Burgernet alert describing the suspect. Officers arrested a man just after 1 a.m. on Hekelingseweg near Eikenlaan. Investigators also secured footage from doorbell cameras in the area.
Later, police received two additional reports of alleged sexual offenses in Spijkenisse, one on Baarsveen and another on Wezelveen. Forensic investigators collected evidence at all three locations.
