Suspect arrested after man wounded in Berkel-Enschot street shooting
A man was shot and wounded on a street in Berkel-Enschot on Sunday morning, prompting a police raid on a nearby home where officers arrested a man and seized three air guns, according to police and local reports.
The shooting occurred along Berkelseweg, where the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg. Witnesses in the neighborhood told Omroep Brabant that the man was allegedly shot from inside a house.
Following the incident, police entered a residence and detained a man. Authorities also confiscated three air rifles during the search, the broadcaster reported.
Emergency services transported the injured man to a hospital. His current condition has not been disclosed.
“The police still have many questions and are investigating what exactly happened,” police wrote on X.
