Man found stabbed in Hoensbroek dies in hospital
Police have opened an investigation after a man was killed in a stabbing in Hoensbroek, in the province of Limburg.Police have identified the victim, but are withholding his identity because his family has not yet been notified.
“We are calling on anyone with camera footage of the incident to report this via our official channel or by using the Report Crime Anonymously page,” a reported told De Limburger.
At around 10:35 p.m., police received a report of a stabbing on Akerstraat-Noord in Hoensbroek, in the province of Limburg. Emergency responders, including a trauma helicopter, attended the scene, and the victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Given the severity of the incident, the trauma helicopter touched down near Elsloo, and officers then escorted the medical team to the victim at Akerstraat-Noord.
A forensic team is investigating the residence, while detectives work at the scene to analyze surveillance footage and question witnesses.
The crime rate in Hoensbroek is relatively low, with about seven violent crimes or sex-related crimes reported per 1,000 residents last year, according to police data. About 18,500 people live in the village, which is part of the municipality of Heerlen.
