Thousands attend dragon parade in The Hague for Chinese New Year

Thousands of people gathered in The Hague on Thursday for a parade celebrating the Chinese New Year. The event in the Chinatown neighborhood featured colorful dragon and lion costumes, as well as fireworks, NOS reported.

A spokesperson told the ANP news agency that about 10,000 people attended the parade. “Not only members of the Chinese community came to watch; many other residents and tourists were also present,” the spokesperson said.

Several thousand people reportedly attended the activities at the Amare Theater to mark the new year, in addition to the parade.

According to Chinese astrology, 2026 is the Year of the Horse, which is said to represent an energetic, active, and sometimes impulsive period filled with opportunities.
