Employee stabbed at McDonald’s in Echt; Suspect arrested on A2
A McDonald’s employee was injured in a stabbing early Sunday morning, and the suspected attacker was arrested shortly afterward on the A2 highway, L1 reported.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the McDonald’s on Zuiderpoort. A man used a knife to wound the employee and then fled the scene. The victim later received on-site treatment and did not require hospitalization.
Police received a report soon after of a man walking along the A2 near Echt. Officers located a 31-year-old man from Schagen, Noord-Holland, matching the suspect’s description in the roadside berm.
According to authorities, the man resisted arrest. A stun gun had little effect, partly due to his clothing, and officers eventually subdued him with the help of police dog Ayko. The suspect reportedly remained aggressive after being taken into custody.
