Firefighters rescue fox stuck between car's grille and bumper in Drenthe town
A motorist in Hoogersmilde, Drenthe, got quite a surprise on Thursday night. She was driving through the dark forest when she felt like she had hit something. When she went to investigate, she saw a small fox wedged between the grille and the bumper of her car, the local Animal Ambulance reported on Facebook.
The animal ambulance responded to the scene, but quickly realized they’d need more help to free the frightened critter. “The fire department was called and, as always, was quickly ready to help,” the animal ambulance said.
Firefighters carefully loosened the bumper a bit, and the animal ambulance employees were able to pull the fox out.
“The animal was quite stressed after its perilous adventure in the forest, but fortunately, it showed no serious injuries,” the animal ambulance said.
They took the critter to a wildlife shelter in Ureterp to receive further care. “We hope the little forest dweller recovers quickly.”
