Jumbo recalls “snoeprozijntjes” raisins over pesticide contamination

On Friday, Dutch supermarket chain Jumbo announced a recall of its “Jumbo Snoeprozijntjes” raisins after tests revealed they may contain unsafe levels of the pesticide acetamiprid.

“Do not eat this product,” Jumbo warned. Customers who purchased the raisins can return them to any Jumbo store for a full refund, and a receipt is not required.

The recall specifically mentions products with a best-before date of July 28, 2026, but Jumbo confirmed that products with other dates can also be returned.

Jumbo expressed regret for the inconvenience to its customers and pledged to prevent similar issues in the future. “We will do everything possible to ensure this does not happen again,” the company said.

Consumers with questions or concerns can contact Jumbo’s customer service at 0800-0220 161 or visit jumbo.com for more information.
