Unseasonably warm weather to hit the Netherlands before sudden cold snap
The Netherlands will experience unusually mild weather early this week before a sharp temperature drop heading into the weekend, according to the latest weeronline forecast.
The week begins with a soft start on Monday, with sunny periods and temperatures around 11 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected in the late afternoon and evening.
After that, the weather should turn dry for several days — good news for children celebrating Sint-Maarten on Tuesday evening, when temperatures will remain mild between 9 and 11 degrees.
By Wednesday, temperatures are forecast to rise further, reaching between 14 and 16 degrees. With some sunshine, it will be pleasant weather to spend time outdoors.
Thursday is expected to be even warmer. Forecasters say temperatures could reach as high as 18 degrees, which is unusually mild for mid-November, when the average is around 9 to 10 degrees.
However, the warm spell may not last long. From Friday onward, meteorologists warn that uncertainty in the forecast increases.
The boundary between cold and warm air masses is expected to settle near the Netherlands, which could lead to rapidly changing conditions. Depending on how that boundary shifts, some areas might still reach around 18 degrees on Friday, while others could already experience a sharp drop and rain.
