Shot fired at car during traffic dispute with fat bike riders in Leeuwarden

A traffic dispute between a driver of a car and several youths on fat bikes resulted in a shot being fired at the car in Leeuwarden on Tuesday evening. It was stated that one of the people on the fat bike is the suspect regarding the shots fired. No injuries were reported.

The argument occurred at 8:30 p.m. at the roundabout of the Archipelweg leading into the Esdoornstraat. Police officers arrived on the scene before searching the nearby area for the culprits, but they were unable to locate any of the group.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene on two fat bikes. Police believe that they fled towards the Groen Ster area, which is a nature park in the nearby vicinity. All the suspects were said to be wearing dark clothing.

Several witnesses saw the situation unfold and spoke to the investigating officers. Forensic investigators searched the car, and they found one or two bullet casings on the street, and the victim’s car has a visible bullet hole, according to Hart van Nederland.

Police have called on anyone with any camera footage of the incident to report this to the police, as well as any witnesses to the crime.
