Man on scooter harassing women, girls in Rotterdam; Ten victims so far, youngest is 11
The police are looking for a man on a scooter who is harassing and assaulting girls and women in Rotterdam. Ten victims have come forward. The youngest is an 11-year-old girl, the oldest a 24-year-old woman.
The incidents have all occurred on and around Zevenbergsedijkje and the Cornelis van Beverenbrug in the IJsselmonde district. The first report was on July 7, and the most recent on September 3. Five of the women reported that the man physically attacked them, the police said on the investigation program Opsporing Verzocht on Tuesday.
The police aren’t 100 percent certain that they’re looking for one perpetrator, because the descriptions victims provided vary somewhat in some respects. But the victims consistently describe their attacker as a man with a light complexion on a dark-colored scooter.
The police are canvassing the neighborhood and asking witnesses and anyone with camera footage that may be relevant to come forward. The police also urged other victims to contact them.
