Canadian-Iranian comedian Neema Naz brings “My Estupid Life” tour to Amsterdam
Canadian-Iranian comedian Neema Naz will perform at Boom Chicago in Amsterdam on Friday, Sept. 26, as part of his “My Estupid Life” world tour. Naz, 30, has built a reputation as a master of comedy both on stage and across digital platforms. In an exclusive interview, he said the two forms of performance complement each other.
“Since the beginning of my career, I made it a point to work on both crafts at the same time so I could grow both skills together. They both help me gain confidence in front of people and in front of a camera,” he explained.
Tour life, he added, is both tiring and rewarding. Amsterdam is the eleventh of twelve European cities where he will perform this month. “You get to travel to new cities, eat new foods, and have fun with your team along the way while meeting the best fans in the world. What more do you want?”
He said audiences in Amsterdam can expect a mix of personal storytelling and cultural humor. Naz plans to share jokes about his Persian family, the various cultures he grew up with, and even roast Amsterdam itself.
From there, Naz heads off to Berlin on Saturday, before continuing his gruling schedule in the United States. The comedian will hit stages in Denver, Detroit, and Washington D.C., in the first week of October.
Naz began performing in 2014 in Toronto while studying kinesiology. He eventually left university to pursue comedy full-time, taking classes to refine his craft.
His career grew steadily, leading to his first headlining tour in the U.S. and Canada in 2022. In recent years, he has gained hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, expanding his audience well beyond live performances.
