Two children trapped between bus and light pole in accident at Hague amusement park
A field trip for primary school children to the Drievliet Family Park got off to a bad start on Friday. An accident involving a bus that didn’t have its handbrake on left two children trapped between the vehicle and a light pole. They were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, the police said.
The accident happened at around 10:00 a.m. on Friday. A bus didn’t have its handbrake on and suddenly started moving, a spokesperson for the amusement park told RTL Nieuws. “It moved slowly forward, causing two boys to become trapped between the bus and a pole.”
The police reported that both boys were taken to a hospital for a checkup and treatment. The severity of their injuries was not disclosed.
The boys’ parents were informed, and Victim Support was made available for witnesses and the children’s teachers and classmates. “There were multiple witnesses to the accident, including many children. This could be very impactful for them.”
The police are investigating how the accident happened. “We are in close contact with the children’s school.
