Court hears S10’s brother may have jumped after being held in Amsterdam residence
The Public Prosecution Service (OM) considers that S10’s brother “saw no other way out” than to jump from the balcony when he was held in a residence in Amsterdam on April 16. This emerged on Monday during the first preliminary hearing against suspect Jermandino S. at the court in Haarlem. S. is suspected of being involved in the death of the 24-year-old twin brother of the singer, who died as a result of the fall.
The victim was found heavily wounded on the roof of a garage that is situated at the bottom of an apartment complex in the Osdorper Ban in Amsterdam on April 16, after falling from the fourth floor of the apartment complex. He passed away as a result of his injuries on June 19. The OM is also investigating the possibility that he fell from the balcony, the prosecutor said.
The 24-year-old suspect from Hoorn was not present at the hearing. The singer was present at the hearing with her mother, among others. Stien den Hollander, the singer’s real name, did not provide any comment to the press that had gathered by the court.
Her attorney told the reporters that the relatives are still struggling to come to terms with the loss. “They want to know exactly what happened and how he ended up down there,” their lawyer said. The family had also hoped that the suspect would be present during the hearing, but the court had previously denied this request.
Two other suspects were also arrested in connection with this case, of whom one is still in custody. An underage suspect has been released under certain conditions. The prosecutor expects more arrests to follow.
The next hearing in S.’s case is set for November 11. He will remain in custody until that time. The second suspect will appear in court for the first time on October 13.
