Ukrainian President meets GroenLinks-PvdA politician Timmermans to discuss defense
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on X (formerly Twitter) that he met with Frans Timmermans, leader of the GroenLinks-PvdA alliance in the Netherlands. The politicians discussed "Ukraine’s defense support, diplomacy, security guarantees, and our future in the European Union," President Zelenskyy wrote.
“We value the Netherlands’ readiness to continue supporting Ukraine. I also want to highlight their participation in the PURL initiative. The Netherlands was among the first to join and has already allocated 500 million dollars for American weapons for Ukraine; it is also funding the purchase of drones,” Zelenskyy wrote.
“Joint production projects are next in line. And this is extremely important for our defense against Russian aggression,” he added.
He also acknowledged the long-term support from the Netherlands since Russia’s full-scale invasion. “The Netherlands has stood with us from the very start of the full-scale war – helping Ukraine, Ukrainian families, and our military. And I am grateful for this ongoing support,” Zelenskyy wrote.
