Singer S10 and mother demand suspect’s presence at court hearing in twin’s death
Singer S10 and her mother want the 23-year-old man from Hoorn, who is suspected of involvement in the death of their twin brother and son, to be required to appear in court in Haarlem on Monday, September 1. “The bereaved consider it undesirable and even unbearable for this hearing to take place without the presence of the suspect,” wrote victims’ lawyer Sébas Diekstra in his request to the Noord-Holland court.
On April 16, the twin brother of Stien den Hollander, the musician’s actual name, was found heavily wounded on the roof of a garage at the bottom of a flat on the Osdorper Ban in Amsterdam. The 24-year-old victim had been staying in the flat for hours before this, where he was possibly held against his will. He died of his injuries on June 19.
“They also want to see who is suspected of killing their brother and son. Partly because this concerns a criminal trial in which he is standing trial as a suspect for this violent crime, they consider his presence at this first hearing essential.” A court spokeswoman said the court has yet to decide on the request.
In addition to the 23-year-old suspect, who was arrested on May 21, a 30-year-old from Hoorn has also been in pre-trial detention since the end of June. He will appear in court in October during the first preliminary hearing.
